“The National Spring Holiday—International Nowruz”
The Dovletmammat Azadi Library in Arkadag and the Arkadag City Trade Union Council of Turkmenistan jointly held a discussion on the topic “The National Spring Holiday—International Nowruz.” All the educational values addressed in the discussion are remarkable. After all, they reflect the national characteristics of the people, their traditions, customs, and their aspiration toward goodness. The national holidays of our people, who yearn for joy, music, and merriment, also belong to these wonders. Among them is Novruz, celebrated in the spring, the sultan of the seasons. As a folk holiday, Novruz has its roots in ancient times. Colorful sayings such as “After Novruz, there will be no winter, and after the spring equinox, there will be summer,” “The coming of the year is known by Novruz,” and “If Novruz comes, the ice will not hold,” prove that our ancestors identified the characteristics of every day and every season. With the arrival of the Sultan of the Seasons, spring, to our beloved homeland, every plant of the Turkmen steppe, covered in crimson and green, becomes a remedy for ailments and a healer of the soul. They spoke in detail about the blooming of various spring flowers, which also bloom brightly during the celebration of International Nowruz, adding even more beauty to our nature and giving our green steppes a wonderful appearance. At the end of the conversation, they wished our Hero Arkadag and Hero Serdar Arkadagly good health and a long life for the opportunities they create to realize the high spiritual and moral values and national traditions of the Turkmen people.
